Secret Habits of Self-Made Millionaires: How to Save Money and Achieve Financial Freedom

Secret Habits of Self-Made Millionaires: How to Save Money and Achieve Financial Freedom

The decisive factor in the achievement of financialfreedom is the development of specific habits. Selfmade
millionaires have already learned these habits and as the result of practice and repetition, have reached
financial freedom. You can learn to save money and think like selfmade millionaires to become financially
independent yourself
The First Habit of Self-Made Millionaires
Perhaps the most easily identifiable habit of selfmade millionaires is the habit of frugality. Wealthy people
are careful with every penny and every dollar. They know how to savemoney  and allocate their funds carefully. They never buy new when they can buy used. They never
buy if they can lease, and they never lease if they can rent. They never rent or lease if they can borrow.
For example,
most selfmade millionaires do not buy new cars. They save money and wait until a good quality car is about two years old before they buy it. Even then, they have the car thoroughly checked out by a reputable
mechanic. Once they feel confident that it is an excellent buy, in good condition, they buy the car and then they drive it for five or ten years before replacing it.
Most new cars drop 20% in value as soon as you drive them off the lot. After two years, many cars have
lost 30% 50% of their value. They are still in excellent condition, and often they are still covered by factory warranties. When you buy good quality used car, you can save many thousands of dollars, all of which can
be saved and invested and allowed to grow at compound interest toward your ultimate goal of financial
 freedom.
Self-Made Millionaires Know How to Save MoneSelfmade millionaires develop the habit of regular saving and investment from an early age. Human beings are creatures of habit. We very quickly adapt to almost any external condition or circumstance. If you save 10% off the top of your paycheck, and discipline yourself to live on the other 90%, you will soon adjust your
lifestyle downward slightly so that you are quite comfortable on the lesser amount. In no time at all, living at
this level becomes a habit and you stop thinking about it.
Many people are deeply in debt and the idea of saving 10% of their income, off the top of each paycheck, is too difficult for them even to consider. In this case, which is quite common, I recommend a gradual process of learning to save money where you begin by saving 1% of your income and living on the other 99%. For example, if you are earning Rs 20000 per month, make a decision today to save Rs 2000per month,  You can then live on the other Rs 18000.
Save money in the long run by going down to the bank and open up a separate account, your financial
freedom” account. Money that goes into this account only flows only one way- inward. Once you put
money into this savings/investment account, you never, ever take it out or spend it for any reason. It has only one purpose: to enable you to achieve financial freedom as soon as possible.
Once you have become comfortable living on 99% of your income, increase your monthly savings rate to 2% off the top. Within one year, you will find yourself living quite comfortably on 10% of your current income. Continue this process until you are saving 15% and then 20% of your income, off the top. You will not even notice the difference in your standard of living because it will be so gradual. But the difference in your financial life will be absolutely extraordinary.
Activate the Law of Attraction for Financial Freedom
Here is an extraordinary discovery. When you begin to save money, and you feel positive and happy about your growing account, these positive emotions imbue that money with a form of energy that begins to attract more money into your life, and into that account. Old friends will pay you back debts that you had forgotten a long time ago. You will have opportunities to earn additional amounts of money that had not occurred to you. You will sell things that you had had for a long time that you thought had no value. And as you add these amounts to your account, your account will develop even more positive energy, and attract even larger amounts of money.
 Save Money and Love It
There is an especially special habit that selfmade millionaires and financially successful people learn or
develop over time. It is the habit of responding to incoming money in a particular way.
When we are growing up, we are encouraged to save money from our allowances. However, as children,
we look upon money as a tool with which to buy candy, toys and other things that make us happy. As a
result, we naturally begin to look upon saving as a punishment, something that hurts us and deprives us of
the candy, toys and enjoyable things we desire. At an early age, most people begin to associate savings with pain, with sacrifice, with loss of pleasure, satisfaction and happiness.
As adults, this negative habit is manifested in our desire to spend money as soon as we make it. Many people in their late teens and twenties look upon every paycheck as an opportunity to go out and spend as much money as they can. This is why it is generally known in the restaurant business that they will be the fullest at the middle and at the end of the month, on paydays.
People very early begin to associate spending with happiness and saving with pain. Since the basic human motivation is to move away from pain toward pleasure, from discomfort toward comfort, and from dissatisfaction toward satisfaction, most people develop the habit of associating spending with enjoyment and saving with unhappiness.
Rewire Your Thinking and Gain Financial Freedom
Your job is to reverse the wiring on this habit. It is to detach the wires from one set of attitudes and reattach them with a different set of attitudes. Your job is to begin thinking in terms of pleasure whenever you think of saving and accumulation, and pain whenever you think of spending and getting rid of your money. Developing habits of self-made millionaires is the clear cut way to gaining financial freedom in your life.
ave any tips on how to save money and thinking ahead for financial success, please share and comment be!

7 Good Habits of Highly Successful People

7 Good Habits of Highly Successful People

create-successful-habits-break-bad-habitsSuccessful people are where they are today as a result of their habits.  Your habits determine fully 95% of your behavior.  Everything that you are or that you will ever accomplish will be determined by the quality of the habits that you form. By creating good habits and becoming goal oriented you can become successful and live a prosperous life.

Successful People Maintain 7 Good Habits

Success in human life has been studied by the great thinkers and philosophers for at least 2500 years.  I have personally studied the subject for more than 30 years.  What I have found is that the very best people have good habits .I have identified seven habits that you need to develop if you want to perform at your very maximum in everything you do.

Be Goal Oriented

The first is to become goal oriented. You need to be a habitual goal setter, and dedicate yourself to working from clear, written goals every day of your life.  All highly successful people are intensely goal oriented.. They know exactly what they want, they have it written down, they have written plans to accomplish it, and they both review and work on their plans every single day.

Be Result Oriented

The second habit successful people develop is result orientation.  Result orientation is made up of two practices.  The first is the practice of continuously so that you become better at what you do.  The second practice is that of time management, which means setting very clear priorities on what you do and then concentrating single-mindedly on the most valuable use of your time.  All really successful people are intensely result oriented.

Be Action Oriented

The third major habit you need to develop is that of action orientation.  This is really the most important habit for material success.  It is the ability to get on with the job and get it done fast.  It is your ability to develop and maintain a sense of urgency, a bias for action.  Fast tempo in whatever you do is essential to your success.  You need to overcome procrastination, push aside your fears and launch 100% toward the achievement of your most important goals.  The combination of goal orientation, result orientation and action orientation, in themselves, will virtually assure great success.

Be People Oriented

The fourth habit you need is people orientation.  This is where you put relationships in the center of your life.  This is your decision to cultivate within yourself the habits of patience, kindness, compassion and understanding.  Virtually all of your happiness in life will come from your ability to get along well with other people.
The good news is that you can become a wonderful human being in your relationships with others when you decide to.  And, as Aristotle said, the only way that you can learn any habit is by practicing it on a regular basis.  The more you practice being a truly excellent person in your relationships with others, the more you will internalize those qualities and actually become that person.

Be Health Oriented

The fifth habit Successfull people  develop is health orientation.  This means that you must fastidiously watch your diet, and always eat the right foods in the right proportions.  You must exercise on a regular basis, continually using every muscle and joint of your body to keep it young and fit.  And finally you must have good habits of rest and recreation that will enable you, in combination with diet and exercise, to live to be 80 or 90 years old.  Remember, your health is the most important single thing you have, and it is completely subject to the habits that you develop with regard to the way you live.

Stay Honest, Express

The sixth habit is that of honesty and integrity.  In the final analysis, the character you develop as you go through life is more important than virtually anything else.  Honesty means that you practice the “reality principle” in everything you do.  You are completely objective with yourself and with the world around you.  You set very clear values for yourself and you organize yourself around your values.  You develop a vision for yourself and then you live your life consistent with your highest ideals.  You never compromise your integrity or peace of mind for anyone or anything.
This attitude of honesty is critical to your enjoying all of the other good habits that you are developing.

Be Self-Disciplined

The seventh habit, and the one habit that guarantees all the others, is that of self-discipline.  Your ability to discipline yourself, to master yourself, to control yourself, is the most important single quality that you can develop as a person.  The habit of self-discipline goes hand in hand with success in every area of life.
Every one of these habits, being goal oriented, result orientated, action orientated, people orientated, health orientated, honesty and self-disciplined can be developed.  You are where you are and what you are today because of your habits.  Your habits have been developing, mostly accidentally, from the time you were an infant.  Today you can take complete control over the shaping of your character and personality, and everything that happens to you in the future, by making the decision, right now, to define and to develop the habits that will lead you to great success.  And when you develop the same good habits possessed by other Successfull people, you must and will enjoy their success as well.  Your future will become unlimited.
Thank you for reading this post on creating good habits and becoming goal oriented.

Lead by Example: Know the Qualities of a Good Leader

For you to break through the success barriers and make a difference in your own life, you must aspire to a leadership role. You must develop the ability to persuade and influence others to work with you to achieve your goals and objectives.
Qualities of a Good Leader
Becoming a leader however requires that you understand the roles and responsibilities of leadership and that you practice the qualities of a good leader until you begin to emerge as a leader in your personal and business life.

In your life, you make critical decisions on a regular basis that determine the course of events for you. Many of the decisions you make have enormous potential consequences. The choice of a course of study in school can determine the direction of your life for many years. The choice of a job or a mate in marriage can be a critical event that determines much of what happens to you in life for several years.
You are always free to choose and have the ability to choose, to take command, to assume a leadership role in your life through several different leadership styles.
In fact, all of your life is the result of the choices and decisions you have made up until this moment. Leaders are those who make better choices and decisions than others, more often than not and chose to lead by example.
3 Different Leadership Styles
The good news about leaders is that they are made, not born. Leaders are largely self-made as the result of continuously working on themselves over the years. No one starts off as a leader, but you can aspire to leadership by learning the qualities of a good leader, and how they think and feel, and then by copying them until you become one yourself.
Position Power
There are three major forms of leadership styles in our society today. The first is “Position” power. Position power refers to the powers of rewarding and punishing that go with a particular title or role.
If you are made a sales manager or vice president of marketing, you have the power to hire and fire people, to raise their pay or leave it where it is. You have the power to hand out privileges or punishment and to alter the terms and conditions of employment to make them more agreeable or less agreeable. But whoever has your title has those powers. They are conferred upon you by the title itself. They go with the position.
Expert Power
The second type of power is “Expert” power. Expert power arises when you are very, very good at what you do and as a result, people defer to your opinion and your judgment. Experts in critical areas for the survival or growth of organizations have tremendous power, even though they may have no staff at all. Their decisions and their judgment carry a tremendous weight.
One of the most important decisions you make during the course of your working life is to develop “Expert Power” in what you do. By becoming very, very good in your area of expertise, you develop power out of all proportion to your position or title. The most respected and valued people in any organization are those who have developed the ability to make the most valuable and most consistent contributions to the business. By becoming excellent at what you do, you set up a force field of energy of magnetism that attracts power and respect to you.
Ascribed Power
The third form of power in organizations is called “Ascribed” power. This is power that is conferred upon you by other people because they like you, trust you, believe in you and want you to have more influence and authority.
Ascribed power is a combination of being very good at what you do, being likable, being results oriented and being perceived as the kind of person who can be the most helpful to others in helping them achieve their individual goals.
The effective leader always begins with the “needs” of the situation. The effective leader always asks, “What does this situation most require of me? What am I most uniquely capable of contributing to this organization? Of all the things that I can bring to this organization, what are the one or two things that I and only I can do that will make a difference?”
We said before that the most common characteristic of leadership, throughout the ages, is that leaders have “vision.” Leaders can see the big picture. Leaders can project forward 3-5 years and imagine clearly where they want to take the organization and what it will look like when they get there.
Leaders have the ability to articulate this vision in such a way that everyone around them can see and understand where they are going. The leader is the person who has the ability to articulate an exciting vision of a compelling future that everyone wants to be a part of.
Perhaps the most compelling vision that you can articulate for the people around you is the decision and determination to “be the best” at whatever you do.
Lead by Example and Make a Difference
One of the most important qualities of a good leader is for you to lead by example, to be a role model, to be the kind of person that everyone else looks up to and wants to be like. One of the characteristics of leaders is that they carry themselves at all times, even when no one is watching, as if everyone was watching.

The Key to Influence Others

One of the best ways to influence someone is to do something nice for him.
Do Nice Things to Others
One of the best ways to influence someone is to do something nice for him. I know many successful salespeople who make a habit of taking their prospects out to breakfast or lunch. During the breakfast or lunch, they do not talk about their products or services unless the client brings it up. They merely make small talk, ask questions and listen. They work on building trust, and they work on establishing a friendly relationship. At the end of the breakfast or lunch, they tell the prospect that they will be getting in touch with him sometime in the future with the possibility of talking to him about helping him in some way.
See Them As Friends and Partners
The best salespeople and businesspeople in America today are those who look upon their customers and prospective customers as friends and partners. They always look for ways to help their partners improve their lives in ways that are not directly related to the products or services they sell. They sow seeds, and they reap a harvest. They trigger a desire in people to reciprocate. When the time comes for those salespeople to approach their prospects with the possibility of buying their products or services, the prospects are wide open to the questions and inputs of the salespeople. The prospects have a deep-down desire to reciprocate.
Learn How to Talk  and influence people!
Send Thank You Notes
One of the best ways to use this principle in your interactions is to continually look for ways to say and do positive things for people. Look for ways to do kind acts and favors for your friends and prospects. Send thank-you notes. Send birthday cards. Send clippings from newspapers about subjects that you feel may be of interest to them. Always keep your promises, and follow up on your commitments. Always do what you say you will do. Do everything possible to put in, knowing confidently that you will ultimately be able to get out far more. You will reap if you sow.
Be A Go-Giver Rather Than A Go-Getter
Someone has observed that no one ever built a statue to a person to acknowledge what he or she got out of life. Statues are built only to people to acknowledge what they gave. The most powerful, influential and successful people you will ever meet always look for ways to do nice things for others. When you meet someone under almost any circumstance, one of the best questions you can ask is this: "Is there anything that I can do for you?" Always look for ways to put in rather than to take out. The successful man or woman of today is a "go-giver" as well as a go-getter.
Be Open and Empathetic
The more that people feel that you are open and empathetic and sensitive to their needs and concerns, the more open they will be to your influencing them positively in some way. And the more you can influence others with the power and impact of your personality, the more you will accomplish, and the faster you will accomplish it. The more rapidly you will move toward the great success that you desire and deserve.
Action Exercises
Here are two things you can do immediately to put these ideas into action.
First, look for ways to do nice things for other people, especially your family, friends, and customers. The more nice things you do for others, the better you feel about yourself.
Second, take time to really listen to people, especially your staff and coworkers. The more and better you listen to others, the greater is your influence over them.

How Negative Energy Affects Your Life and How to Clear It

You know that like attracts like, right? So here's the deal: Positive people are drawn to positive energy; negative people are drawn to negative energy. We tend to perceive negative energy as something other people have. Sure, sometimes we feel negative – as in, “go away and leave me alone, world!” but did you know that negativity can be so ingrained in you that it goes unnoticed?

That's because negativity sometimes wears a disguise called ‘reality' It's easy to rationalize that you're ‘just being realistic' in not daring to act on a dream – and believe it!

You may assume that positive people are not being realistic – that they're being naive, that they are in denial with their heads stuck in the sand, that they put on fake smiles in the face of difficulty and so forth. But are they really happy idiots or is there something to their positivity?

Consider this: since when does ‘being realistic' necessarily mean that things will go wrong and that you have to accept that as the truth?

That doesn't mean that being realistic is automatically negative. When you view the world from a ‘realistic' standpoint, you can't help but be negative IF your version of reality is negative.

If your version of reality is negative, you are conditioned to believe that whatever can go wrong, will go wrong and whatever can go right, will probably go wrong too. Your unconsciously held beliefs make you into a negative person without your being aware of it!

So – if this negativity is so ingrained in you that you don't notice it, how do you determine whether you're stuck in a cloud of negative energy that is attracting the wrong people, wrong situations and wrong feelings? And how can you be sure you're not perpetuating that negativity?

Here's a quick quiz to gauge the level of negative energy within you: -

· Do you complain? All the time or just sometimes?

· Do you often discuss what's wrong in the world more than what's right? This includes the ‘terrible' weather, ‘horrible' traffic, ‘idiotic' government, ‘lousy' economy, ‘stupid' in-laws, etc.

· Do you criticize? All the time or just certain people?

· Are you attracted to drama and disaster (can you unglue yourself from the TV when there's a news story of a disaster and can you avoid getting involved in the lives of dysfunctional celebrities?)

· Do you blame? All the time or just certain situations?

· Do you believe that you have no control over most of your results?

· Do you feel like a victim? Do you talk about people doing things to you?

· Are you grateful for what is or will you be grateful when things finally start going right for you?

· Do you feel like things are happening to you? Or do you feel that they are happening through you?

These last two points are important: If you're not grateful except when things go right, you are negative. Gratitude is positive. If you are grateful for what is (including the unpleasant school of life lessons, then you can invite more and more positive energy into your life.

Believing that things happen to you puts you in the role of victim; then it's easy to be negative because it's convenient to give up that power. So consider this alternative: who or what is to blame when GOOD things happen to you? Do you acknowledge that you are responsible for the good things – as in, you worked hard, you earned it, etc… but blame external events or other people for your failures? So how come, when good things happen, they are a result of what you do, but when bad things happen, they are not your fault?

Nobody likes to hear that. It takes courage to accept that you create your life experience!

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, you are holding on to negative energy to some degree! To clear your negative energy and raise your vibration, you will need to retrain yourself to choose a positive attitude.

Here's another interesting idea to consider: have you noticed that positive people seem to get what they want out of life, and even if things don't go their way, they still enjoy their lives… while negative people whine and moan about their misfortunes and even the good things in their lives?

To clear negative energy, try this 3 -step process:

1. Take ownership: “When you think everything is someone else's fault, you will suffer a lot. When you realize that everything springs only from yourself, you will learn both peace and joy.” – The Dalai Lama

2. Cancel negative thoughts and replace them with positive thoughts. This takes practice, dedication and making a decision to see the world through the eyes of “what can go right” instead of “what can go wrong.” You'll have to catch yourself anytime you are acting out or speaking out your negativity, and immediately change your tune.

3. Use the Love or Above Spiritual Toolkit to clear your energy and bring more light and love into your life; visualize the positive instead of getting sucked into negativity; overcome past conditioning; think intuitively from the soul instead from ‘reality'; create a new, desired reality in your imagination and manifest it in the outer world. Nobody wants negative energy to permeate their lives, yet many of us allow it. But we allow it unconsciously, based on past conditioning that suggests an inevitable outcome to certain situations. When you overcome that conditioning and realize that the future is NOT cast in stone but that you have more control over your circumstances than you believe – then you can begin to consciously design your life.

What's going to happen then? Your positive energy will magnetically attract what you consider to be good and right for you: people, situations, things… and you'll notice a huge, huge increase in your happiness and inner peace.

Why not choose positive energy? Make some changes within, and you'll quickly see positive changes in your life. Enjoy the good feelings and abundance!

Eliminate Financial Problems through Self Discipline

The primary reason for financial problems in life is lack of self discipline, self mastery, and self control. It is the inability to delay gratification in the short term. It is the tendency for people to spend everything they earn and a little more besides, usually supplemented by loans and credit card debt. Today, the savings rate in India is too low to achieve financial independence. After a lifetime of work, the average family doesn't have enough savings so people continue to spend and borrow as if there is no tomorrow.

The good news is that we are living in the most affluent time in all of human history. There are more opportunities to achieve wealth and prosperity today, for more people, in more different ways, than have ever existed in the history of man. It has never been more possible for you to achieve financial independence than right now. But you must make a resolution to do it, and then follow through on your resolution.
The Reasons for Financial Problems

The primary reason that most adults have financial problems is not because of low earnings. The reason is lack of self discipline and the inability to delay gratification. Why is this weakness of character so prevalent among the majority of adults in society today? It goes back to early childhood.
When you were a child and you received money (whether it was your allowance or a gift from a friend or relative), the first thing you thought of doing was to spend that money on candy. Candy is sweet. Candy is delicious. Candy fills your mouth with a wonderful, sugary flavor. You liked candy when you were a child, and you probably could seldom get enough of it. Many children will eat candy until they become physically ill because it tastes so good.
As you grew older, you developed what psychologists call a “conditioned response” to receiving money from any source. Like Pavlov’s dog, when you receive money, you mentally salivate at the thought of spending this money on something that makes you happy, at least temporarily.
Spending Makes You Happy

When you become an adult and you earn or receive money, this automatic reaction continues. Your first thought is, “How can I spend this money to achieve immediate pleasure?”
When you go on vacation to a resort of any kind, you find that the hotels and streets are lined with shops selling useless trinkets, bobbles and trash, plus clothes, artwork, and other items that you would never think of buying at home. Why is this? Simple, when you are on vacation, you feel happy. You have a conditioned response to associate happiness with spending money. The happier you are, the more unconsciously compelled you are to go out and spend money on something, or on anything.
It is quite common for many people, when they are unhappy or frustrated for any reason, to go shopping. They unconsciously associate buying something with being happy. When it doesn’t work as they expected, they buy something else. Sometimes, unhappy people go on shopping sprees. They buy lots of things that they don’t particularly need because they unconsciously associate spending with happiness.
Use Self Discipline to Rewire Your Responses about Money

The starting point of achieving financial independence is to for you use self discipline to rewire your attitude towards money. You reach into your subconscious mind and disconnect the wire linking “spending” and “happiness.” You then reconnect that “happiness” wire to the “saving and investing” wire.
To reinforce this shift in thinking, and eliminate financial problems open up a “financial freedom account” at your local bank. This is the account in which you deposit money for the long term. Once your money goes into this account, you resolve that you will never spend it on anything except to achieve financial freedom.
Associate Happiness with Financial Independence

When you begin saving in this way, something miraculous happens within you. You start to feel happy about the idea of having money in the bank. Even if you only open your account with `10, this action gives you a feeling of greater self-control and personal power. You feel happier about yourself.
Because the money in your account is emotionalized by your own thoughts and feelings, it sets up a force field of energy that begins to attract more money into it. If you save 10 a month for a year, you will be astonished to find that with the extra bits of money that you have put into that account, you will probably have more than `200, rather than just `120. If you save100 per month, you will probably have more than `2,000
The more money you have in your bank account, the more energy it generates and the more money is attracted into your life. You have heard it said that, “It takes money to make money.” This is true. As you begin to save and accumulate money, the universe begins to direct more and more money towards you, to save and accumulate.
Everyone who has ever practiced this principle of regular saving is absolutely astonished at how quickly their financial problems change for the better.
The rule for financial independence, once you have rewired your attitude toward money, is to “Pay yourself first.” Most people save whatever is left over after their monthly expenses, if there is anything left over. The key however is to pay yourself first, off the top, of every amount of money you receive.
